Yes more on the playroom, I think I am having more fun coming up with ideas for this room than the kids will have playing in it! I haven’t got to work on it since last week because we were away over the weekend and then I have been busy with other house and work life but my goal is to get all my need to’s done by Thursday and I am hoping to get my craft on over the weekend and finish up a bunch of projects to give the room it’s finishing touches! I of course had to head over to Etsy for some inspiration and to pick up some pretties for the room! I can’t wait to share with you how some of these will be displayed in the room when they arrive!

She is such a little joy! I hadn’t had my professional camera out since her newborn pictures and I was working on a homework assignment the other day so I had it out and Miss Libby just started smiling away so I decided to try and capture some of that cuteness!
While I have been enjoying so many things about the newborn stage I am sad to say that I have caught myself several times in the last few weeks wishing for later baby stages, for when she will be sleeping more through the night, sitting on her own and not being 100 percent dependent on me. I hate to think these things and I know that it isn’t even what I really want. I really want to enjoy her right now just as she is but sometimes I get tired or want to work on a project or just throw in a load of laundry and it seems to take me all day to do something that used to take me five minutes. I don’t like that I feel that way but I also know that it is natural as a mother of an infant to sometimes feel overwhelmed. That being said I have been thinking a lot about how I would rather feel and react and what the most important things are in life. I decided to work on being more joyous in my daily living, I would like to remind myself of why I am mother above all things and why I should choose joy and to sit and hold my sleeping baby and leave the dishes in the sink a little longer. I know this will not always happen or work because life must go on but I am going to try and not complain so much about being tired and be thankful that I have a healthy baby who wakes up every three hours to eat because she is a wonderful eater. I am going to sit a little longer to snuggle her when she sleeps because there is nothing better than a baby sleeping on your chest clinging to your shirt and I am so blessed to be wearing that shirt that she clings to. I am going to stare longer at her toothless smiles because I know it won’t be long before her little gums will not be the only thing showing through very soon. I have always tried to be a mom who cherished each stage but sometimes I need to be reminded and Libby reminded me and I am so glad she did! I will still have to do the laundry and the dishes and clean up the house but I will wait until the time is right and soak up some of those sweet moments first, the dirty dishes aren’t changing to much sitting in the sink but my babies sitting in my lap are.
I always tell anyone who has a new baby to enjoy every moment because they change so fast and the truth is they do. Libby is helping me grow as a mother each day and fills me with such overflowing joy! I am so blessed to be her momma and I love that she melts my heart each day with her sweetness! Lindsey, I love how you share your emotions and deepest part of your heart, it is inspiring! Love you Your positive outlook is so encouraging!! And these pictures made me smile! I need to find some time to come cuddle Libby (or do the dishes, but I think we both know i’d rather hold Libby ;p)!! xoxo Any room makeover wouldn’t be complete without the inspirations of Pinterest, would it?.I think not so during some of Libby’s feedings when I am sitting down cuddling her and she is dosing off to sleep I have been browsing around Pinterest for decorating and organizing ideas. Here are a few of my favorites below. I know we can never recreate a room nor would I want because it’s fun to be original but I do love taking a couple ideas from each room I see and love and put them all together to create my perfect room! Decorating really is such a fun art, where you pull things from lots of different places and by combing them together you can create something beautiful and functional! Image One Source Via Tiny White Daisy’s I love the soft colors of this room, it is so inviting and sweet. Image Two Source Via Young House Love This room looks like it has it’s own imagination! I love spaces that encourage creative play! Image Source Via One Kin Design I love the huge letter in the playroom and the flags, the flags are so huge right now and I love it! We are definitely having flags in the playroom once I have time to make them, they make me feel like I am at a party and I like parties! Photo one Image Source Via Love Mae I am a bit obsessed with Love Mae stickers, I currently have them covering my computer that I am typing on as we speak, they are just so cheerful and cute! I will have to share more about them with you here soon since I know you will love them too! Libby’s nursery is sure to be covered with them when it is finished! Photo two Image Source Via French By Design While black and yellow are not my colors I do love how they used just the two colors to create this look and the stripes make it look so fresh and clean. (Tent Image Via Oh Dear Drea) This tent is so cute! I love tents, I only have one tent up in the house right now and it’s in Noahs room, I really miss having a tent in the living room but there is just no space with all the baby gear in place now. I will be so excited when Libby gets old enough to enjoy a tent and we will have one up again for us all to cuddle and play and read in! This by Oh Dear Drea is darling and shows you how to make your very own tent! We will definitely be trying this out soon! Image Source Via Hus O Hem This playroom looks very cute and functional, I love kids sized table and chairs, I would probably just have children sized table and chairs in my house if my husband and company would sit at them!
Image Source Via The Boo and the Boy This room is super adorable! The white gives it that crisp look and the little pops of color make me smile. It looks like there is a little hidden room in the tree wallpaper covered wall. I am crazy for secret little hidden, there will be at least one or two of them in the new house! Kids love to have a place that is just their size and their own (well and lets face it so do I, do you think I could fit in there and if so can I shut the door and take a nap)! I have started a complete haul out of the house in preparation of our move this year. We aren’t expecting to be in the house and studio until the end of the year but I know things will move fast and since I will be moving an entire house and studio with a less than one year and five year old I feel that there is no such thing as being to prepared! I tend to have a hard time getting rid of things so I am having to be really tough on myself and only keep what I absolutely love and know I want for sure in the new house. I am doing pretty good so far I did all three bathrooms at the beginning of the week and threw out two trash bags full and gave away two bags full of things too! It is feeling good to de-clutter. Yesterday I was home with the kids all day with nothing else on the schedule which is rare so I decided to tackle the front room slash mud room, slash playroom, slash hold all of my stuff that has no other home room. You can a image a tiny room with that many jobs was a bit of a doozy to go through but I am so glad I did. Once I tore the whole thing apart I decided I wanted it to be a room with one purpose and the thing we needed it for the most was a playroom so a playroom it has become. You all know I love to decorate and create and children’s spaces are my absolute favorites, so you can only imagine how many ideas my head is filled with right now and how much fun I am having dreaming of the final look! It is turning out wonderful so far, but there are a lot of details that need to be added. I have a few ideas for some fun crafting projects I want to make for the room so I hope to get to them in the next week. So far I have the room about 80 percent done with things I have around the house which I love. I love how you can move something around or pull something out that you’ve had stashed away for awhile and put it in a new place and it feels like new again! Now I get to have a little fun shopping for a couple of new items for the room. I of course headed right over to The Land of Nod for some inspiration and found a million things that I would love for the new playroom! Unfortunately for me and The Land of Nod all of these items will not fit into the small room that is the playroom but we will start with a few favorites and add to them when we have a large play area in the new house.
I love The Land of Nod for so many reasons, they are definitely one of my go to places for all home decorating ideas. They just have such a sweet whimsical, child like style. I am in love with how they mix vintage and modern and how they carry such unique items. The next time you are redecorating I highly recommend taking a peek on their website or in their catalog for ideas because they always decorate and organize their rooms so cute! I will be sharing more inspiration for the playroom next week and then hopefully within the next week or so I will have a finished product to show you! Can’t wait!
